We’ll Help You Shape the Recipe

Love cooking but never written a recipe before? That’s okay! If you have a recipe that’s unforgettable—one that people request, one that defines home for you—we’ll help you turn it into a recipe ready for the world.

Step 1 – Register Your Entry (Deadline :12th June 2025) Tell us you’d like to be part of Feels Like Home—no need to have your recipe fully written yet! We will then mail you the payment details

Step 2 – Pay the Registration Fee (Deadline: 12th June 2025) Confirm your participation by completing the entry fee payment. Once confirmed, you’ll receive your Recipe Development Workbook on 14th June 2025, designed to help you test, refine, and document your dish properly before the submission deadline.

Step 3 – Develop Your Recipe (Workbook Received: 14th June 2025) Follow the workbook guidelines to perfect your dish. Whether you cook by instinct or careful measurement, we’ll provide structure and guidance to make it ready for publication.

Step 4 – Submit Your Final Recipe (Deadline: 25th July 2025) Send in your completed recipe by 10th July 2025, and be considered for inclusion in Feels Like Home, the cookbook that puts Sri Lankan home cooking on the global stage.

Only the best of the best will be published. Feels Like Home will feature carefully selected recipes that truly represent Sri Lankan home cooking at its finest.

Editorial support is available for an additional fee, ensuring your recipe is polished and publication-ready.

Vara Dara is curating Feels Like Home, a cookbook that celebrates Sri Lankan home cooking in all its forms—from treasured traditional recipes to bold innovations and fusion creations that carry a Sri Lankan twist.

Your recipe doesn’t need to be of Sri Lankan origin—if it’s made in a Sri Lankan home and infused with local ingredients, flavors, or techniques, it belongs on these pages. Whether it’s a classic, a contemporary reinvention, or an unexpected fusion, we welcome every expression of home cooking.

We are calling for submissions from home cooks, culinary storytellers, and food lovers to be included in this landmark collection. Selected contributors will see their recipes featured in print, and one standout submission will earn the Editor’s Choice award—winning a once-in-a-lifetime culinary journey through Singapore, where flavors transcend borders and dining becomes an art form.

This is more than a cookbook—it’s a legacy in the making.
